A boy and girl wandering alone through lush terrain undergo a journey to real and imagined landscapes. This cinematic diptych by Croatian director Željka Suková is a playful allegory with an original approach to sound.
A boy and girl wander alone through lush terrain looking for something. The moment they find a mysterious gate amid the dense shrubbery, they gain the ability to travel to both real and unearthly landscapes. More and more, a childlike imagination and the conflict between the profane and the sacred begin to permeate their behavior. In her new film, original Croatian artist Željka Suková employs a specific artistic sensibility based on improvisation, found-footage collage, inventive and symbolic play with sounds, and an extemporaneously guided and inflexible story in order to shape a playful allegory about the desire to return to paradise.
