Among the most popular movies of this year's Karlovy Vary International Film Festival was the Cannes hit and winner of the Best Director Award Cold War, a romance from the communist era and a sort of follow-up to Pawel Pawlikowski’s Oscar-winning film Ida.
The leading actor came to Karlovy Vary to present the black-and-white picture. „Hi. My name is Tomasz Kot and I’m an actor from Poland. Kot means tomcat,” the 6' 7" tall charismatic actor introduced himself in Czech. He continued in English: “I am deeply honoured to present this movie, which means a lot to every one of us. I could say much more about the film, but I will heed Pawel Pawlikovski’s words expressed at the film’s world premiere: The movie is not long so the introduction shouldn’t be long either. Enjoy the movie.”
If you are unable to see the emotional love story at the festival, you can find it in Czech cinemas in the framework of the KVIFF Distribution from 12th July.
First-hand brews throughout the year.
