If you didn’t get to see everything during the festival, don’t worry. The official Echoes of the 57th KVIFF will be here in no time, bringing the best picks of the film programme. From Monday, July 10 to Sunday, July 16, Šary Vary 2023 will offer screening of a gripping family drama Anatomy of a Fall, which won the Palme d’Or at Cannes, Aki Kaurismäki’s new comedy Fallen Leaves, which won the Jury Award at the same festival, and South Korean romance Past Lives.
Czech films will include an adaptation of Jáchym Topol’s book A Sensitive Person and the detective drama We Have Never Been Modern starring Eliška Křenková; you can also look forward to a dark comedy She Came at Night, the scorching Brutal Heat, the Czechoslovak classic Ball Lightning and a short film Electra.
Go to the screenings at the Světozor, Aero or Přítomnost cinemas in Prague, and to Scalní letňák: Filda in Brno. Each cinema offers its own selection of films, some screenings will be followed by debates with the filmmakers.
