When can tickets be purchased or picked up?
Tickets are made available for reservation via the Vodafone KVIFF Guide mobile app every day at 7 am; ticket offices open for the sale and pick-up of reserved tickets at 8 am. Only films being shown that day or the following day are available for reservation or purchase at these times, so that newly arrived festivalgoers will also have a chance to see films. This rule applies for the reservation/pick-up of tickets on a Festival Pass as well as for the individual purchase of tickets at ticket offices.
The only exception is the first day of sales (Thursday, 27 June), when you can reserve and purchase tickets for the festival’s first two days (Friday, 28 June and Saturday, 29 June). On this day, sales and reservations begin at 9 am at ticket offices as well as via the mobile app.
Example: If you want to reserve or pick up a ticket for 5 July, you can do so on 4 July – from 7 am via the 2024 Vodafone KVIFF Guide or from 8 am at one of our ticket offices.
Our tip: A fixed number of tickets is set aside for sale via the mobile app and, separately, for sale at ticket offices. If there are no more tickets available via the app, try asking in person at a ticket office.
Box offices
Festivalgoers can choose from 25 box offices. There are 15 box offices (including the Vodafone
box offices) inside the Hotel Thermal alone and another six in the immediate vicinity (on the stairway), including
our “last-minute” box offices. Another two box offices may be found at the Grandhotel Pupp, and there are two
more box offices at the tent city.
Our tips
-
Do you have a Festival Pass? Avoid early-morning lines at box offices
by reserving your tickets online via the Vodafone KVIFF Guide app. You can then pick up your
tickets at any time during the day, but no later than 60 minutes before each screening.
Any reserved tickets not picked up by then will be made available for purchase by others!
-
Do you have a Festival Pass and want to try your luck at the last minute?
Then head to the last-minute box offices on the stairs by the Thermal, where all tickets left
unsold 15 minutes before the start of each film are made available to holders of a Festival Pass or
accredited festivalgoers.
-
If you have a Festival Pass and forgot to pick up your tickets on time,
you can try waiting in line directly by the entrance to the screening venue. Five minutes before
the start of each screening, people in line are offered the remaining free seats in the cinema. Please
bear in mind that the seats are given away on a “first-come” basis and that you are not guaranteed a seat.
-
If you have a valid ticket, make sure to be in your seat on time. Five minutes before the
start of each screening, all empty seats are offered to others and you forfeit your claim to a seat.
-
Tickets for changed or canceled screenings are refunded at the main box offices in the Hotel Thermal.
-
Dogs are not permitted inside screening venues. The only exception are assistance dogs accompanying visitors with disabilities.
