This caustic three-part satire, the latest work by one of Romania’s most distinctive directors, won the Golden Bear at this year’s Berlinale. Besides a quasi-documentary depiction of Emi’s trip to the meeting and a postmodern exploration of today’s most burning social issues, the film includes a grand finale that exposes all the everyday frustrations, prejudices, and boundless hypocrisy of the students’ parents.
