A second Czech representative, The Snake Brothers by director Jan Prušinovský, are vieying for the Crystal Globe on Tuesday. Prušinovský, along with Matěj and Kryštof Hádek and others who helped make the film, introduced the movie in person at 17:00 in the Grand Hall. The story follows the lopsided relationship between two brothers, with the older Užovka getting the younger thief Kobra, who despite his dependence on drugs is favoured by their mother, out of trouble. Užovka is going nowhere and is eager to change his life. When he gets the chance to start his own business, he doesn't hesitate and becomes a small-town entrepreneur. But just when things are taking a turn for the better, his younger brother turns up...
Jan Prušinovský decided to cast biological brothers in his film, which turned out to be a good choice. "It was an intuitive idea. It was entertaining how Kryštof and Matěj checked up on each other on the set. When just one of them was shooting that day, he would immediately ask how the other was doing," said Prušinovský during the press conference. The question was also posed whether the brothers would be jealous if the other one won the prize for best male actor at the festival. "The prize will always belong to both of us. It's just a question of who goes up to get it," joked Matěj Hádek.
