The 54th edition of the Karlovy Vary IFF came to a close on Saturday night with the traditional glitzy closing ceremony. Among the winners were Bulgarian co-directors Kristina Grozeva and Petar Valchanov, who took the Best Picture prize for The Father; Boris Akopov, who took the East of the West award for his feature debut The Bull; and Ksenia Okhapkina, who earned the Best Documentary prize for Immortal. The biggest star of the night was Patricia Clarkson, who was presented with KVIFF’s Crystal Globe for Outstanding Artistic Contribution to World Cinema.
