On the occasion of presenting the KVIFF President’s Award to Ivan Trojan, the festival has organized a special performance of the monodrama Frogs as part of its accompanying programme. The performance will take place on 3 July 2024 at 10pm at the Karlovy Vary Municipal Theatre. Written and directed by Trojan’s longtime collaborator Petr Zelenka on the occasion of the actor’s sixtieth birthday, the new comedy tells the story of a film prop master who likes objects better than people – until SHE enters his life. A man experiencing an extreme life crisis, a forgotten star of his profession, torn between his love for an unattainable woman and his lifelong fascination with stage props – Frogs had its world premiere on 19 April 2024 at Prague’s Dejvice Theatre.
Duration: 80 minutes without intermission
