American actor Richard Gere will be a guest at this year‘s KVIFF. Where can you see him?

Richard Gere will arrive in Karlovy Vary for the first festival weekend. He will be in attendance at the opening ceremony on 3 July in the Grand Hall of the Thermal hotel, where he will receive the Crystal Globe for Outstanding Contribution to World Cinema. Audiences can see him arriving to greet them on the red carpet on 3 July at around 5 pm. The gala commencement will be broadcast on ČT 1 beginning at 8 pm.
Richard Gere will present the film Time Out of Mind along with actress Jena Malone and director Oren Moverman.

On Saturday, 4 July, at 11.00 pm in the Outdoor Cinema, Mr Gere will be presenting a screening of the legendary romantic comedy Pretty Woman. Did you know that this year marks the film’s 25th anniversary?

On Sunday, 5 July at 10.30, in The Grand Hall of the Thermal hotel, Mr Gere and director Andrew Renzi will present a screening of the film Franny. This gala event will also be preceded by a red-carpet arrival.
Attendees who purchase a ticket to the show will also be able to see the live filming of Marek Eben‘s programme Plovárna, which will take place right before the screening.
