Tribute to Břetislav Pojar 2007 / Balablok / Canada 1972
A protest against intolerance presented in an original, minimalist artistic conception. Here we have animated balls and blocks battling it out together in a fight which initially resembles a boyish tussle yet, by the end, the goal is total mutual destruction. Yet the direction of the piece remains playful, focusing on witty visual gags. The film was awarded the Palme d’Or in Cannes in 1973.
