Swedish documentarist Anna Juhlin offers a portrait of her grandfather, a Turkish poet who became a passionate photographer of well-known faces from the world of avant-garde art. Employing myriad old photographs, they browse together through his life, which the filmmaker investigates, both in terms of visuals and content, with an uncommon feeling for the subtleties of poetry. A movie about a poet who photographed Man Ray and Samuel Beckett; a portrait of a man who found the magic of poetry not only in black-and-white photographs but in life itself.
