Tribute to Michelangelo Antonioni 2012 / Chung Kuo Cina / Italy 1972
In 1972 Antonioni shot a four-part documentary about China with the approval of the Communist authorities. In the film he concentrates on people’s faces and keeps the commentary to a minimum. The first part was shot in and around Beijing. The next stop is the port in Shanghai and finally we witness the skills of Chinese acrobats. This film will be screened in the Tribute to Michelangelo Antonioni III.
