The central character of Vendula Bradáčová’s documentary, which focuses on the desire for freedom and the endeavour to give help to those who need it most, is well-known Slovak actress and singer Dorota Nvotová, who also composed the music for the film. Six years ago she flew to Nepal, thereby exchanging her promising career for a chance to help orphans and the little children forced to eke out a living on the streets of Kathmandu. She and her new husband, Brit Johny Rowett, helped kids at the local Happy Home orphanage. They implemented the tradition of long-term volunteers, mainly from the Czech and Slovak Republics, who come to help out. Today, 30-year-old Dorota regularly travels from the overcrowded Asian metropolis to the nearby Himalayas where she accompanies her travel agency clients on high-altitude treks. With personal openness she investigates the different mentality of the local people and the various problems she faces when carrying out her charitable activities.
