Documentary Films - Competition 2003 / Milkan / Iran 2002
A suggestive half-hour documentary depicting the “spring” part of life for the Gooran, Ghokhani and Banzardeh tribes in the northern part of the Zagros mountain range in Iran. These lightly mystical documentary images depict certain aspects of tribal life, where all responsibility is placed on the women.
During the springtime, the Gooran, Ghokhani and Banzardeh tribes settle in Dalahou, lying in the northern part of the Iranian mountains of Zagros. This lightly mystical documentary depicts certain aspects of tribal life, where all responsibility is placed on the women. Whatever time is left after building the shelter, ensuring their subsistence and looking after the children, is wholly devoted to rituals.
