Forum of Independents - Competition 2003 / Ravioli / Austria 2003
A truly independent, low-budget bitter-sweet comedy from Austria about a real loser: Heinz Hoschek, who loses his job, his wife and his house and finally becomes a swimming pool attendant.
Heinz Hoschek, who formerly worked as a branch manager of a bank, has lost his job and his marriage has failed. He loses his house and returns to the unoccupied apartment of his parents. His mother has died, his father lives in a nursing home. In his loneliness Heinz recalls days long past: holidays by the sea, birthday parties, his school and university days, his engagement… Through his alcohol and medication, he constantly loses the ability to distinguish between reality and fantasy. He receives various visitors, some real, some unreal. Finally he tries to pull himself together and find a new job: Heinz Hoschek becomes a swimming pool attendant… A truly independent, low-budget, bitter-sweet comedy from Austria.
