A Danish loner is forced to leave his home although he once looked forward to a time when the place would become even more engulfed by the landscape, and when birds, normally afraid of people, would rule the roost. A portrait of a unique individual and the environment that effortlessly mirrors the solitary foundation of his existence.
The main character of the biopic Astika is well aware that the mass of men will never understand him. Now they are forcing him to leave the place he has fundamentally become a part of, a place he treats with such respect that he won’t even enter certain areas. He will no longer be able to observe its natural development, which was to unfold as a gradual blending with the thriving landscape. This forlorn portrait investigates in like manner both the subject, whose lifestyle stands opposed to conventional expectations, and the place he inhabits and which embodies this unforced rebellion.
