Future Frames: Ten New Filmmakers To Follow 2015 / Fuglehjerter / Norway 2015
Just prior to his birthday, 25-year-old Benjamin faces a plethora of internal doubts. He is unsure of the arrival of his younger, more successful brother, and even his girlfriend deepens his insecurity by relating the story of her most erotic encounter ever – and it wasn’t with him.… A sensitive movie about a small life crisis that anyone might go through as a birthday approaches.
Benjamin and Maya live happily together in a small apartment in Oslo. But the arrival of Benjamin’s successful younger brother Tobias and a subsequent party fairly poison their idyll. Maya’s innocent telling of an erotic adventure she had causes Benjamin’s insecurities to surface. Am I a good lover? Have I accomplished enough in my life? His 26th birthday is coming up and it seems that his family is more interested in an essay Tobias got published or the cake baked by his younger sister. A sensitive movie about a small life crisis that anyone might go through as a birthday approaches.
