Documentary Films - Competition 2015 / Kacey Mottet Klein, naissance d’un acteur / Switzerland 2015
How does a child become an actor? And how does the acting profession influence his or her relationship to the world? In Ursula Meier’s documentary teenage Kacey Mottet Klein answers these very questions. Following the road from the playground to the film set, the film presents a study of how mind and body mature before the camera lens.
How does the acting profession influence a child actor’s relationship to the world? In Ursula Meier’s documentary teenage Kacey Mottet Klein answers this question. The years pass by, the youngster’s experience grows, perceptions change. The portrait begins with his primal fascination with the camera – that “huge spider with long legs” whose piercing gaze must be avoided – and ends by contemplating how difficult it must be for actors to take leave of role after role and find themselves again. Following the road from the playground to the film set, the movie presents a study of how mind and body mature before the camera lens.
