A melancholic comedy about one day in the life of three couples in contemporary Buenos Aires, reminiscent in its theme, structure and dialogue of the successful Czech film Loners. Martin and Natalia spend the whole morning in endless discussion. They continue talking in the car which prevents Martin concentrating on the driving and he crashes into the car of Gaston Pauls, a famous TV and film star (played by Gaston Pauls himself). Natalia immediately feels attracted to Gaston, while his girlfriend Andrea has already decided she wants to break up with him. Gaston goes for an interview with journalist Camila, who’s fed up with her boyfriend, Leonardo. Then Leonardo meets Natalia by chance…

Juan Villegas (1971) studied at the Universidad del Cine in Buenos Aires. He worked as an assistant on several films and co-wrote the screenplay for Modelo 73 with Rodrigo Moscuso (2000). He also wrote for the film magazine El Amante Cine. Saturday is his first feature film.
