This near psychological trip through time along the path of technological development is built upon the strobe-like flickering of the image as it slowly merges an old photograph into its film and digital counterparts. The conflict between analog and digital media, between the present and the past, confidently tests the sensory limits of the viewer’s experience.
Supported by a noise soundtrack that sharply grates on the ears, this near psychedelic trip through time along the path technological development has taken for the past 150 years is built on the strobe-like flickering of the image: an old landscape photograph that gradually fuses with its film and digital counterparts. The thirteen-minute audiovisual ride, providing a powerful physical experience, wrings the very maximum from the conflict between film and digital media, between the present and the past, and confidently tests the sensory limits of the viewer’s experience.
