Documentary Films - Competition 2005 / El ultimo minutero / Spain 2004
A 20-minute documentary about the now unfamiliar profession of street photographers, celebrated for producing photographs within one minute and without the use of negatives. Unique shots capture the guru of one-minute photographs, José Rivero (1906-1994), at work in the streets of his native Las Palmas.
A 20-minute story about what is today a practically unknown profession. José Rivero (1906-1994) was a local legend on the Canary Islands. He was a street photographer whose speciality was to develop a photograph within one minute without using a negative, thereby influencing several generations of his followers who, like Rivero, joined the endless throngs of individuals endeavouring during the course of the history of man and his perception to halt the inexorable flow of time, at least for a moment.
