Malaysian-born and Texas-based, Yen Tan worked in end-of-life planning with AIDS patients right after finishing college in the 1990s and was inspired to continue his path as a queer filmmaker by observing his clients’ resiliency. In this beautiful Dallas-made short, he depicts a moment of humanity shared between a disease-stricken young man and a door-to-door makeup saleswoman.
