The memorial to the victims of the First World War in Ancona, Italy, whose stairs have a magnificent view of waves breaking on the Adriatic Sea. A couple returning to the place they honeymooned 40 years earlier. A visually elegant miniature directed by world-renowned choreographer Jiří Kylián, where words are unnecessary because dance says it all.
The memorial to the victims of the First World War in Ancona, Italy, whose stairs have a magnificent view of waves breaking on the Adriatic Sea. A couple returning to the place where they honeymooned 40 years earlier. Choreographer Jiří Kylián’s extraordinary imagination describes everything that accumulates in a relationship over so many years: laughter and tears, humor and sarcasm, all overlain with a deep love. Everything is so perfectly expressed through dance and other gestures that words are no longer necessary. This short film is a visually elegant miniature about recapping the past and spontaneously experiencing the present, but also a hopeful look at the future, however short it might be.
