Another View 2019 / Introduzione all'oscuro / Argentina, Austria 2018
Gastón Solnicki and Hans Hurch – the nonconformist Argentine filmmaker and the respected head of the cult Viennale festival. A little big film about a friendship that continues even beyond death, presented in the form of Solnicki’s cinematic declaration to his deceased pal. About mourning that is both playful and provocative without being any less real. About Vienna as you’ve never seen it before.
Gastón Solnicki and Hans Hurch – the nonconformist Argentine filmmaker and the respected head of the cult Viennale festival. A little big film about a friendship that continues even beyond death, presented in the form of Solnicki’s cinematic declaration to his deceased pal. A movie about mourning that is both playful and provocative without being any less real. Solnicki comes to the Austrian capital to visit those places that still bear clear signs of Hurch’s unmistakable and charmingly controversial personality. And while doing so he enlists a pure film language to search his memory for the moments of precious human understanding that occurred between two avid movie lovers. A cinematic obituary with a subtle sense of humor.
