Viktor remains elusive, however, and his mother’s repeated attempts to get through to him come to nothing. German acting legend Corinna Harfouch stars in this precisely crafted psychological study by one of the most successful German filmmakers of his generation, Jan-Ole Gerster, who here takes up the thread of his critically acclaimed debut Oh Boy.

Synopsis

Today is Lara’s sixtieth birthday, a special day that will culminate in an event she will always treasure – her son is giving an important solo piano recital. But Viktor, whose career has always been his assertive mother’s sole focus, remains elusive and her repeated attempts to get through to him come to nothing. Lara decides to resolve the unnerving situation in an unconventional way, yet she finds she’s in for some surprises in the hours prior to the concert. German acting legend Corinna Harfouch stars in this precisely crafted psychological study by one of the most successful German filmmakers of his generation, Jan-Ole Gerster, who here takes up the thread of his critically acclaimed debut Oh Boy (KVIFF 2012, EFA’s European Discovery Award).
