KVIFF at Your Cinema 2020 / Luxor / Egypt, United Kingdom 2019
Hana, a British doctor, arrives in the Egyptian city of Luxor in order to take a break from the psychological challenges of her war-zone duties. Here she encounters archaeologist Sultan, whom she knew years before. The ancient city, a place where the past seems as vivid as the present, provides the backdrop for releasing long-suppressed emotions and confronting decisions made long ago. This intimate, atmospheric film, featuring the charismatic Andrea Riseborough in the role of Hana, competed at this year’s Sundance Film Festival.
