But when they find that they are both in love with the introverted Robert, the girls engage in a ruthless struggle that threatens not only their fragile friendship but also the seemingly unshakeable authority of the entire institution. As seen from three divergent viewpoints, this sensitive film set in a real institution tells the story of an unusual love triangle filled with tense emotions and painful disappointments, but, above all, it is about the desperate yearning for freedom and intimacy.
