He meets football hooligans, a jolly truck driver, and a young priest who has failed on his spiritual quest… For his distinctive variation on Bresson’s allegorical Au hasard Balthazar, legendary Polish filmmaker Jerzy Skolimowski chose to collaborate with the talented young cinematographer Michał Dymek. Together, they have created a daring, formally liberated parable that one reviewer called the wackiest film in competition at this year’s Cannes Film Festival.
