The debut from the Ark brothers, hotly anticipated since 2017, when they won a Cinéfondation prize at Cannes for their short piece AniMal. This stirring film demonstrates the extraordinary talent of its makers; the characters and their story are captured with an almost scalding intensity, precisely in line with the creed of its directors, who regard the film as “the skin in which we live”. Only by confronting the sins committed by members of his family and the curse which has plagued them for generations can the hero attempt to deflect the evil spirits that threaten his mother. An innovative fantasy horror flick blending genre elements with local folk legend.
