The announcement of the death of Jean-Luc Godard last September came like a bolt from the blue, since, as in the case of figures such as David Bowie, we simply regarded this exceptional artist as immortal. The decades-long, unrelenting quest within his oeuvre for new definitions, and his explosive and, at the same time, profoundly intellectual polemic with the world as well as with himself, likewise pulsate through this 20-minute piece, one of JLG’s last creative eruptions before his death by assisted suicide. This work will be screened together with another new production, the exclusive archive film compilation Godard by Godard.
