A peaceful life without sex is better than a relationship which is all passion and arguments. That’s Xavier’s opinion yet, as soon becomes obvious, his view is certainly not shared by Sophia, his partner of several years. One afternoon she finds she can’t resist the electrifying magnetism of Sylvain, an unselfconscious maintenance man, who is hired to renovate their weekend house. What follows is an instant sexual rapport, coupled with an explosion of suppressed desire. Monia Chokri turns a film about love into a searingly brisk tragicomedy offering a fresh perspective on the shortcomings of monogamy; likewise she chooses the woman as the subject through which we experience eroticism and sensuality in the film.
