Some magical worlds can be hidden behind the mirror; others exist between the walls. This lo-fi mystery by Caroline Poggi and Jonathan Vinel takes us to a constricted wall space, to liminal places and dreamlike states, which might provide asylum in situations that go far beyond our comprehension. At once a chaotic and contemplative piece, which puts video game aesthetics to good use, the film functions as an expedition to uncharted territories. As in the previous opus by the filmmaking duo, music plays a prominent role here, which helps to intensify the provocative and disquieting nature of a work which is, however, also somewhat melancholy, yet undeniably reassuring.
