Are we watching a concert, an endearingly manic fairground skit, or a Dadaist demolition derby, which might have come out of a film by Quentin Dupieux? Lolo and Sosaku are two sound artists, whose enchantingly ineffective mechanical instruments, whacky escapades and destructive creativity are brought together in a Western odyssey as conceived by Sergio Caballero. The result is an entertaining piece of interaction between performance, documentary and artistic installation, at whose centre lie the creators themselves. A film, in which senseless machines are reined in, but certainly not the imagination.
