While the girls try out a new choreography, the school desk offers less joyful prospects. This film compilation, pieced together from period archival footage while conversing in a highly contemporary language, calls into question the fantasy of its title. Who is really fantasising here? And who put the idea into teen girls’ heads that they ought to be daydreaming about things like that? A dynamic film striding to the rhythm of marching majorettes; a sober film with the mentality of an adult woman.
