Young activist Basel has spent years documenting Israeli efforts at evicting Palestinians from their settlements in the West Bank. His family comes from Masafer Yatta, a collection of nearly two dozen hamlets fighting every day for the right to exist. Their inhabitants never know if a bulldozer will come to destroy their house the next day. In this unique cinematic testimony, which won both the Panorama Audience Award and the Best Documentary Award at this year’s Berlinale, activist Basel is joined by the Israeli Yuval. The two are united in their fight against injustice, but while one lives in a free state, the other lives under military occupation.
