Aimie, a teenage immigrant who has recently moved from Korea, has fallen in love with her best and only friend, Tran. She tries to express her feelings for him, but is scared of losing their friendship. A sensitive and intimate portrayal of love, emigration, isolation and loneliness in the anonymous suburbs of a North American city.
Aimie, a teenage immigrant who has recently moved with her mother from Korea, has fallen in love with her best and only friend, Tran. She tries to express her feelings for him, but is scared of losing their friendship. Their misunderstood affection for each other creates a delicate relationship which is challenged by the demands of living in a new country. In order to spend more time with Tran, Aimie drops her English classes and argues with her mother who wants to remarry. A sensitive and intimate portrayal of first love, emigration, isolation and loneliness in the anonymous suburbs of a North American city.

So Yong Kim (b. 1968, Pusan) emigrated in 1979 from Korea to the United States. She studied painting and video art at the School of the Art Institute of Chicago. Kim produced Bradley Rust Gray’s first narrative feature Salt, shot in Iceland (Karlovy Vary 2003). After several short films, In Between Days is her first full-length film.
