Why We Support the Festival

Dear Friends,

It is a great pleasure to be able to present MALL.CZ as the main partner of the Karlovy Vary International Film Festival for the fourth time.

Last year was an unusual year, when most shops, services, and unfortunately also cultural events were shut down, ceased operations, or were canceled, essentially from one day to the next. On the other hand, 2020 was an immense boon for e-commerce, since the pandemic encouraged online shopping. We are thus aware of the fact that we are among the more fortunate. We feel that it is our duty to support Czech culture, and I am glad we are able to be a part of such an exceptional event as KVIFF. Culture brings people together and tears down barriers, and that is something we all need right now.

Artists and cultural events have just gone through what have probably been the most difficult months of their existence, when they bore the full brunt of the government measures. Last year’s festival could not be held in its usual format, but this year the festival is happening! And though it will be different than we are used to, let’s enjoy it together!

Our team is doing its utmost this year to put together the most interesting program possible, one that we will continuously adapt to reflect the latest situation and meet applicable government measures.

We are proud that MALL.CZ supports projects that create opportunities for people to come together. I am sure that this year’s Karlovy Vary festival will be unforgettable.
