Czechoslovak Architecture 58–89 will premiere in the Grand Hall at 11:00 a.m. The documentary film presents the views of director Jan Zajíček and rapper Vladimir 518 regarding this intriguing topic. The documentary Actress will then be introduced at 2:00 p.m. at the Municipal Theatre by a delegation led by the film’s protagonist, actress Iva Janžurová.
Sunday will also feature the world-famous director Steven Soderbergh, who is one of this year’s esteemed guests. The filmmaker, renowned for his work on movies such as Sex, Lies, and Videotape and Traffic, will showcase his film Mr. Kneff in the Grand Hall at 2:00 p.m. This movie is one of the key features of the Kafka program section. Is Europe condemned to be stuck in a vicious circle of violence, or is there hope in those who try to sing the songs of others? This is what director Vadim Jendreyko will ask during the gala screening of his film The Song of Others – A Search for Europe in the Small Hall at 2:30 p.m. Some other prominent figures of contemporary cinema will also be stepping forward. Tom Hardy, Jodie Comer and Austin Butler will star as The Bikeriders in a 4:00 p.m. screening at the Pupp Cinema. The film was cast with the help of acclaimed casting director Francine Maisler. She will be the one to introduce the movie.
A special screening of a hyperrealistic documentary from the war in Ukraine is certainly also worthy of attention. The film Real will be presented at the Small Hall at 6:00 p.m. by the protagonist, director and active soldier Oleh Sentsov himself. At the same time, Icelandic filmmaker Rúnar Rúnarsson will introduce his film When the Light Breaks at Čas Cinema. The award-winning American director Nicole Holofcener will also take the floor, as she will present her latest piece You Hurt My Feelings at 7:00 p.m. at the Pupp.
The Czech Television House will host Czech filmmakers. Debates will be held at 11:00 p.m. on Sunday concerning the films Living Large, I’m not Everything I Want to Be, The Hungarian Dressmaker and Actress. The innogy Point at Mlýnská kolonáda will feature a debate starting at 3:30 p.m., centred on the new Czech film Waves. The guests will include director Jiří Mádl, producer Monika Kristl and actor Vojtěch Vodochodský. At 5:00 p.m., the venue will host a discussion with the filmmakers of Our Lovely Pig Slaughter. The world premiere of the movie is then scheduled for 8:00 p.m. at the Grand Hall. How about heading to KVIFF.TV Park? Along with Meet & Greet with the creators of the competition films, KVIFF.TV Park will also showcase the Strakatý Vary talk show hosted by Čestmír Strakatý at 5:30 p.m., and the KVIFF.TV quiz by CAMPARI featuring actor Oskar Hes at 6:30 p.m. The evening will traditionally belong to DJs, drinks and fun. For live music, you can head to Mattoni Life Bar, where Richard Krajčo will perform from 9:00 p.m. and Bert & Friends from 10:30 p.m.
