Forum of Independents 2001 / Silvia Prieto / Argentina 1999
Silvia Prieto is the story of a woman who is obsessed by the idea that another woman has the same name. On her 27th birthday she decides to change her life. She takes a job as a waitress, buys a canary, cuts four chickens into 48 pieces for the refrigerator and meets a girl who advertises washing powder on the streets. Then she spends a weekend with her canary in Mar del Plata where she meets an Italian who lends her his Armani jacket. Through him she finds out that there is a second Silvia Prieto. Her fragile world becomes unstuck. The search for this Silvia soon turns into a confusing game of subtle riddles, moving between comedy, parody and profundity.
